The initial storyboard was pretty well kept to throughout although the form of the skier did change.
For Banff we thought we would try and generate a fully articulated figure for the skier.

The structure had the shoulders connected to the torso, the upper arms connected to the shoulders, the lower arms connected to the upper arms and the hands connected to the lower arms. Transformations could be applied to each. The legs were organised in a similar way. The structure is shown below. It is very similar to that used by the ISO PHIGS Standard.

Once we had the structure, it was quite easy to generate the first 3 skiers of varying degrees of technical competence.

The final skier needed to morph into the skier in the logo. In consequence, the last skier is a 2D person who warps into the final form.

Here is the path of the final skier with the 2007 moving out of the path of the advancing skier. The morphing above appears between position 6 and 7.

We tried various ways of collecting up the trees but doing them one at a time tended to take up too much time.
