Synopsis

Over the last three decades, information technology has earned its place in the battery of tools educators use to deliver learning. IT is part of the fabric of education and its role is increasingly stretching beyond classroom delivery. Policymakers are looking to technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the education system - and they're taking big bets.

Taking the ground-breaking Scottish Schools Digital Network National Intranet as an example, Tim will consider what technology - and the Web - can do for education, and what it can't.
