Souheil Badran

Souheil Badran is vice president of VeriSign security services.  He is responsible for the division's operations in sales and marketing, product management, strategic development, and high-growth initiatives for VeriSign's international operations across the EMEA region. He also has responsibility for VeriSign's global channel and partner programs and is based in their Geneva headquarters.

Souheil joined VeriSign in 2000 with over 10 years of international, strategic, operating and financial management experience in high technology organizations. He initially managed VeriSign's channels organization and formed key relationships with industry leaders who leveraged VeriSign's security offerings.

Before joining VeriSign, Souheil was at Digital Insight, an Internet banking provider, where he launched the Internet's first cash management solution running in a service bureau environment. He was part of the management team who took the firm through a successful IPO in October 1999.  He has also held senior positions with the Metavante Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Souheil Badran received his MBA in Marketing and undergraduate degree in computer studies from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Synopsis

With the rise in virtual organized crime units, consumers - now more than ever - are threatened by the ill-effects associated with identity theft and phishing attacks. We will discuss a comprehensive, layered approach to protecting consumer identities that addresses all facets, from detection - to prevention - to protection. The panel will also review the latest security legislation in the US and Europe.
