EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DEADLINE: FEB 18
Online registration for WWW2008 is available.
Early bird registration (with a significant discount) ends on February 18, 2008. Please register now if you haven't had a chance to do it.
HOTEL RESERVATION REMINDER
WWW2008 will be held at Beijing International Conference Center. Hotel rooms are at a premium in Beijing, both in price and availability. Please book early to avoid disappointment. The WWW2008 organizers have arranged special rates for our conference attendees with the two nearby hotels: Beijing Continental Grand Hotel (4-star) and Crown Plaza Hotel Beijing Wuzhou (5-star). CHINESE VISA REQUIREMENTS
We recommend that you contact your local Chinese Embassy and/or Chinese Consulate to inquire about the specific details that apply to your Visa application process for your country. Please make sure to ask the estimated processing time it may take to process and issue your Visa. Usual Visa requirements include:
- Valid Passport with expiration date of at least 6 months beyond your stay in China
- Completed application form
- Passport photos
- Official invitation letter
- Plane tickets
- Additional info such as hotel booking, proof of sufficient funds, etc., may be required in certain cases.
STUDENT TRAVEL ASSISTANCE
WWW2008 values the participation of students. The goal of the student travel support program is to encourage participation in the WWW 2008 conference by students that would normally find it difficult to attend due to financial reasons. Applications are accepted from students at recognized degree-granting institutions around the world. DAVID BELANGER HAS BEEN CONFIRMED AS A KEYNOTE SPEAKER
David Belanger is currently the AT&T Labs Chief Scientist, and the Vice President of Information & Software Systems Research at AT&T Labs in Florham Park, NJ. As Chief Scientist, he is responsible to the AT&T Labs CEO for: identifying pre-product technology important to the future of AT&T, evaluating technology, building alignment within AT&T on technology directions, and serving as AT&T liaison to external technical communities, specifically universities, government agencies and industrial laboratories. PRELIMINARY WWW2008 PROGRAM
A color-coded version of the preliminary program with information on the refereed paper sessions, workshops, tutorials, and keynote speakers is available.
INDUSTRIAL PRACTICE AND EXPERIENCE TRACK: CALL FOR SPEAKERS
The Industrial Practice and Experience track has a few open speakers slots. Vendors and industry people wishing to present practical issues encountered in developing Web-based systems are invited to send an abstract and short bio to one of the Industrial track co-chairs.
