Ewa Dominowska

Ewa Dominowska is a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft adCenter, where she leads the Open Platform Research and Development Feature Team.

She has been working in the field of online advertising for the past three years, with a focus on ad ranking, ad targeting, and content analysis. She designed and architected adCenter¹s contextual advertising system. Ewa is the organizer and PC chair for the Internet Economics track of the Beyond Search Request for Proposals.

She earned her MEng and BS degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research focused on natural language processing and machine learning. Ewa has authored over 20 patent applications in the area of online advertising.
Vanja Josifovski

Vanja Josifovski is a Principal Research Scientist at the Yahoo! Research where he is a member of the Computational Advertising Group exploring search and advertisement technologies for the Internet.

He is currently exploring designs for the next generation ad placement platforms for contextual and search advertising. Previously, Vanja was a Research Staff Member at the IBM Almaden Research Center working on several projects in database runtime and optimization, federated databases, and enterprise.

He earned his MSc degree from the University of Florida at Gainesville and his PhD from the Linkoping University in Sweden.

Vanja has published over thirty peer reviewed publications, has authored around 20 patent applications, and has been on the program committees of WWW, SIGIR, ICDE, VLDB and other major conferences in the database, information retrieval, and search areas.

Papers should be no longer than 8 pages, including all references and figures. Papers should be submitted in WWW2008 proceedings format (two columns, 9pt font, approximately one-inch margins), which can be found at:

All papers must be submitted in either Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), or Microsoft Word Format (doc). Please ensure that any special fonts used are included in the submitted documents. All papers must be original and must not have been published or under review elsewhere.
