WWW94: towards better integration of dynamic search technology and the web
presented by douglas mckee, navisoft
the author presented the integration of "natural language processing" (NLP)
based retrieval software into the web. NLP allows the user to specify
her or his search expressions in a natural language rather then using a
query language.
the here described software allows to search multiple databases with one
query. a so called "translator" converts the query into a form suitable for
each database. an "assimilator" combines the results into one HTML
document.
the user can control the search operation by setting several retrieval
parameters, like the maximum number of documents to be found, the
information that should be displayed (title, author, etc.) and so forth.
i have no link information for this paper on the web.
